Divcibare Mountain Home is a small, yet captivating house design envisioned by .exe Studio. The residence is located near the popular tourist resort Divčibare, on the slope of Mount Maljen in western Serbia. Its modern silhouette visually stands out, contrasting the lines of the curving landscape.
This hillside refuge frames views of the neighboring pine forest, creating an oasis of inspiration for the artistic side of the inhabitants. The interiors are minimalist, with wooden flooring adding a much-needed sense of coziness.
The Divcibare Mountain Home project was designed by combining and connecting two main monolithic volumes, one white and one black. According to the architects, “These forms merge with the natural environment of low pine vegetation and steep rocky terrain.
“On the south, the white portion of the house connects to the outside through a grand picture window, which guides the transition from the artificial to the natural. The black half of the house draws inspiration from original mountain homes. The structure is emphasized through the use of natural materials such as traditional timber shingle cladding.” Enjoy the gallery and tell us what you think! [Photography by Relja Ivanić]
